headers and h-pipe ..
 

from my last thread, im scrapping the ford motorsport headers idea, and going with the BBK shorty's. my next question is, with these headers will the stock h-pipe still fit properly? or am i going to have to get an aftermarket h pipe ... i cant afford both at once, so i was going to do the install in stages (headers, h-pipe so on ..) any input would be great ...
Ps i need cats, if that makes a difference, high flow cats any recomendations? cost?

Yes, you'll need the correct H-pipe to fit BBk Long tube headers. The stock H-pipe will not work. Get you a BBK Shorty H-pipe, it should fit nicely.

well i realize that i would need a new h pipe for long tubes, but im getting the shorties

Opps...I over read the Shorty part on the intial post.

Shorty headers should not require another H-pipe. The stock one should work.

This is me personally, but I'd hold off on the shorties and save up for either mid length, or longtubes.

I'm not sure about other peoples experiences, but I got a set of Pace Setter Headers (Long Tube)..well at least I think there pace setter's and they fit fine. They even give you room enough that you dont have to take them off to service the tranny or clutch..you can drop the tranny down without doing anything to them at all.

They cost me 210 dollars if I remember. If you have to have chrome, and shine, then they aint for you.

Hey Merc, did you ever get a dyno run with your new setup? I'm really curious to see what you're puttin' down.
