Ok i just read your post again.I misunderstood.I though you were talkin about the rpm limiter,i now realize you're talkin about the speed limiter, and i don't know what the speed limiter is set to.I drove 115mph several times,i always back down before i go further so i never reached the speed limiter. You reach 115 so fast you don't even realize it sometimes.

So I guess what you guys are telling me is that I need to do a top-speed test tonight on my way home hmmm?

I have acheived speeds in excess of 130mph but the car feels a little unstable at those speeds and other traffic comes up on you pretty quick...

However, I will let you know in the morning....

142 mph - not much room left to go any faster.....

you're crazy. did she run out of power or hit the speed limiter? i wonder how off the speedo is that high up, and what your adjusted speed was. either way thats crazy. ive only had mine up to 125, and i dont like to go over 100. i like driving too much to lose my license ;) ... at least you found out though, nice.

This is true - but i havent modified anything that would improve my top speed numbers....i dont think....maybe if i changed my gears......

I almost positive that the GT's are electronically limited to 152mph.

I have taken my GT conv. up to 144mph before i got the Power Programmer which removed my limiter. But I have never been up that high since. My friend took his '02 Gt coupe up to 152mph. The rev-limiter and speed-limiter dont have anything to do with each other. Say, if you had 4.56 gears, you would most likely hit the rev-limiter in 5th gear, and not the speed limiter. If you had 2.73 gears you would hit the speed limiter before you hit the rev-limiter.

But the truth is the Mustang is not exactly all that aerodynamic, and its not to stable at speeds that high. Top speeds not that important in a street car anyway... (my opinion) I sold my '85 Vette with Z51 performance suspension, and a 500hp 383strocker. I had that monster up to 172mph, just understand, at thoughs speeds you dont get a second chance...

Pound for pound, a turbo charger is more efficient than a supercharger (ie at 8 psi each a turbo will produce more power).

However a supercharger still has some advantages, easier install, cheaper, no turbo lag.

Thanks fot that info afeezor97

makes sense - I guess the fact that I live in Colorado and drive in elevations higher than 5000 ft affect my overall performance - top end and low end...

True - I wouldnt want to maintain those speeds in my stang unless I modified it to keep her *** planted better and more stable.

I guess I am crazy - I like getting up to those speeds if only for a few moments.....:D
