Describe what you mean by swirled. Did it look like chocolate milk shake (frothy, murky, muddy)? If so, could mean water in the oil which is fairly typical of a blown head gasket.

Are you talking about the oil on the dipstick? Or, are you refering to the dipstick itself? I have an 01, and my dipstick is twisted from just below the handle to the bottom where the oil measurements are. Like a spiral. This is normal.

I found that it gives me a much easier, more reliable reading than my 1996 GT, which had a flat dipstick.
