I have never heard anything like that either. Now, on the other hand, I have heard of certain $30K+ GM muscle cars that burn oil with almost no miles on the clock... (I have friends with new SS's and WS6's that are complaining of using a lot of oil with less than 25K miles...)
Also, why would the extra cam cause you to burn oil when it gets some miles on it? A GT still has the same number of valves per cylinder that a 5.0 has.
