Default Rear Tire Width '02 GT

I really need to get some new tires, my stock ones aren't cutting it. I love my torque thruster rims and wouldn't trade them for anything. I found an after market company that makes them in 17" x 10" They make pretty much all sizes. I am wondering what size tires I can put on my car. I want the widest tires that won't rub or stick out. I know that has to do with the rim so if anybody has any experience with putting fat rubber on 17" torque thrusters that has a nice off set, let me know. Also what size tires are you guys using. I want something that isn't too much taller than my front tires, nothing too extreme. Any pictures that peopple have will help. I will either go with Nitto DR or the G-Force tires. Unless anyone says otherweis. Thanks a lot for everyones help. It is greatly appreciatted.

Matt

I am using 17 x 9 and they seem to fit nicely without sticking out too far. The top of the tire is almost flush at the sidewall with the fenderwell. I always get comments on how nice they look.

I was using the stock tires, but then went to Bridgestone Potenza's. They too are the same dimensions as stock, and they fit nicely on x 9 rims.

I had 315/35/17's on 17x10.5" Cobra R's, but changed to Torque Thrust II's. I believe American Racing makes them in 17x11 that are specifically for SN95 stangs and you can put a 315 on them, but that is the limit in the wheelwell without sticking out. I have 17x9.5 on the back of mine with 285/40/17 and they are about an inch inboard of the edge of the wheelwell.
Also, if anyone is interested I have some 17x8 Torque Thrust II's with 4.5" backspace that I am selling. I had to put a small spacer on the front of my car for Baer brakes so I bought new fronts with 1" more backspace to bring them back in the wheelwells. The ones for sale sit exactly flush with the outside edge of the fender without the spacer.
