ROUSH QUESTION
TO BE HONEST I JUST PURCHASED MY 2000 JACK ROUSH STAGE 2 GT MUSTANG BECAUSE IT LOOKED SWEET. SO IF ANYBODY CAN GIVE ME ANY INFO ON HOW MUCH HORSEPOWER IT HAS AND ALL THE JUNK I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.
IF ANYONE WANTS TO SEE A PICTURE OF IT EMAIL ME AT SITOBLINGBLING@AOL.COM |

OK, your core components for the Stage 2 are: side exhaust, floor mats, rear wing, wheels and tires, Roush suspension, front fascia, rear valence, Roush emblems, window badging, trunk toolbox, side shirts.
Options on the Strage 2 are: styling bar, subframe connectors, pedals, wheels and tires, leather seats, performance breaks. It looks like the only mod that would add HP to the car is the side exhaust and I'd say that would maybe 5hp since the catback really isn't a restriction, so we'll say you have 265. It looks like you car was made to shine in the twisties though and depending if you have the optional equipment it can probably hold its own on a road course. You can find everything you need to know at www.roushperf.com ------------------ 1997 Thunderbird 4.6L: Black w/ grey leather Ram Air w/ K&N, FMS U/D pulleys, FMS 9mm wires, Dynomax exhaust. Soon: custom burned "Inject tech" chip, trans-go shift kit, 28,000GVW trans-cooler No Longer own: 91 LX 5.0L 5 spd Red w/ black interior 2 chamber flowmasters, Bassani off-road X-pipe, MAC cold air induction, Kirban short throw, Heavy duty 3 core radiator, FMS 3:73's, Timing bump to 14 degrees, SRP billet racing pedals, Kenwood sound system |

Don't you have some kind of purchase slip or something that they would have given you with a description of the car? Granted it's Roush but why would you buy a car without knowing about it first?

I would suggest going to the user's rides section and posting pics and info there and then creating a link to that in your signature. Some of the forums here allow images to be posted in the threads but I think the Modular Forum doesn't. If you go to the user's rides section all the info will be there to tell you how to post info. If you want to post a pic in a forum the Blue Oval lounge would be a good place. You need to use the UBB code to post pics. It may seem confusing at first but it's really pretty simple. Holler if you need help.

If you have 317hp, please let me know how Roush claims to have done in order to achieve that. Stock GTs are 260hp. The only performance upgrade I see is the cat-back system, which someone already pointed out may add 5hp. Unless there are different heads or some other combo involving MAM, throttle body, and h/x pipe I don't know they would do it.

What you should do is call Roush, themselves, and give them the VIN number and then they can tell you everything you need to know about the car. HP and everything. That would be the best thing to do. It's easy to post your car in User's Rides. I would highly recommend doing that and providing a link in your signature as mentioned before. Sounds like a pretty sweet ride.

There's an easier way to see if you're pushing more than stock.
Look under the hood. If it looks like this link:http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/News/select16/mikesc8.jpg ... you'll have more than just 317rwhp. ------------------ K! Hey nice ride, I looked at the Roush, in may 2000 and found out that unless you get the stage 3 package the maximum stock HP is 265-270 (depending on who you talk to) the only performance mod is the side exhaust. I opted for a 2000 Saleen (Stock HP is 285). Saleen installs a comp chip to improve the cars performance based on running 93 or greater octane, plus a larger 2/1/2 exhaust system from the cats back, plus K/N filter system. Not sure but I think thats it. Since then I've added an offroad prochamber and weekend will be installing 4:10 gears. Not sure what will be next (would like to get some dress up items for the engine compartment ie: chrome valve covers, but haven't seen any advertised). At any rate it drives and runs great. I think athe Saleen is a little pricey compared to the Roush but thats just my opinion...
