saleens so fast
what makes the 281 saleens so much faster than the gt's. What do they have and what are the performance gains when they are installed in a gt. I'm speaking of the 96 to 98 gt and saleens.

Look at www.saleen.com and look at the specs on the vehicles. The 281 isn't much faster but the S-281 is signifcantly faster with the "S" meaning supercharged. The specs are for the 2000 Saleen but the mods are pretty close to the same as they used in 96-98 with only a few changes to the mods. Saleen's site is dope anyways so look around, especially at the S351's and the new S7.

Do you achieve any gain by leaving your spout out not allowing the EEC to make any changes? I was just wondering....

The spout trick is one where there is no clear evidense about gains or losses.
Sitting still on the dyno, removing the spout seems to cost a hp or 2, but on the track it seems to have the opposite effect. The best explaination I've heard is that when sitting still on the dyno w/o the spout the engine sucks in warm air, but when going down the track, there's enough wind that the engine still gets enough cold air. But to anwser your question, no, you should not need to reset the computer when removing the spout. |
