Strut Tower Brace

My 97 cobra came stock with one. Anyhows I took it off to be chromed and now thats its been off I kinda like the way it looks with out it. Am I hurting anything by having it off? I know the 98's didnt come with one, so what gives?

In my old autocrossing days, we use to add strut tower braces to strengthen the front end. The brace minimizes flexing during cornering. Look at how your suspension set up is now and imagine doubling the weight on the front outside tire during cornering. The tower brace will complete the square and assist in equalizing the weight much like anti-sway bars. If you like pushing through corners, I would leave them on...Even if you are a straight line racer, I can see benefit of leaving them on, as most stut tower braces can mount to the top of the engine and help put your torque to the drive train. My 2 cents....
