Seized E Brakes
I have a 2001 5 speed GT and parked it for the winter about a month ago. I engaged the parking brake since I had to go back in in a few weeks to jack it up and take off the wheels. I did that all today and found out the brakes have seized. I knew it could happen but in less than a month?!
If anyone's had this happen, let me know what you've done to fix it. I'm postive it's repairable, but just how long would it take to repair?... Thanks in advance. |

Was it raining and freezing when you parked it and stayed below freezing? If so, could just be frozen cables.
Crawl under the the car and yank the cables a few times, it may break them loose. Could be other things such as a bad return spring in the brake assy, or one of the cables is bad.

Maroon, I washed her just before I putting her away. It was around freezing temps then was sunny for a bit then turned damn cold during the past month. I'll climb under there tomorrow and check if maybe the cables aren't frozen. Thanks for the help, and happy new year!
