They are even beneficial on a stock car because they allow you to put in a lot more positive caster than stock, which stangs need to handle. Positive caster makes for more negative camber in turns so that you don't have to have so much negative camber for good handling and get funny tire wear. I think positive caster also improves bump steer and Ackerman angle, but can't remember for sure.
