If you run low boost, you can do it on stock internals. I would recommend beefing up the bottom end and make serious power with it, or you're just wasting money, IMO.
As far as dropping into a '66, anything can be done if you spend enough money. One thing to consider, the OHC motors are as wide across as the old big block motors. Nothing bigger than the 302W block (at 289cu in) came in that car. Easiest way to get EFI there would be with a 302, or 351 W.
