I have a bigger cam,I have NOS. Used correct the NOS will not hurt. Get a good ignition box,an a timing control,and a hot coil. This will make the NOS more costly up front but it makes it safe. The cam will not give you nearly as much power and speed,but starts the mods for later on. I would say Save the money and get the heads and intake done, or replaced at the same time as the cam. This keeps you from haveing the car down a secound time, and buying all the gaskets again. Then go for the NOS.
