timing a 428
I have just installed a Edelbrock preformer intake and Edelbrock 600 carb w/electric choke. Also a Flame Thrower II and Flamethrow ingition. I am wondering what degrees the distributer should be and what timing marks should be used to get the motor running correctly.

Hey Fireman... I don't believe you need to worry about changing the timming to unspecified "new" marks on your ballencer unless you have changed the cam as well. Just remember the old backyard trick- while the eng is hot, and running the gas of your choice, simply advance the timming in increment's of 2 deg. or so driving the car under a load in between. When she starts to ping noticeably then retard 2 to 3 deg. and lock it down. Have fun!
