You'll get a few different answers on this one. No one shifter is better than the rest they all are better than stock. Some people just have preferences. Me personally I liked the Tri-Ax but didn't care for the price so I bought one of the UPR shifters, which for the most part is the same thing just cheaper. That is cheaper in price not quality. www.uprproducts.com

I personaly really liked the Kirban shifter I had. They aren't in every single ad in MM&FF like a lot of other brands, but it is a great product. I choose it after I had driven several different shifters.
The Pro 5.0 is very solid, and great if you are going to run at the track all the time, but IMO, it is too "notchy" feeling for daily driving.
After driving the B&M Ripper, I thought it was something I could get used to, but the throw was still pretty long due to the long handle.
The Kirban was a perfect comprimise between the both. It had a very short and positive throw like the Pro 5.0, but it was smoother like the B&M. It really is a great shifter for someone who wants something a little more solid then the B&M, but not as "notchy" as the Pro. And it was priced in the middle too, $179, but that came w/ a polished billet alum. handle also.
I have never driven the Tri-axe, but I have heard that its a rather good shifter also.

The Steeda Tri-ax shifter is bad @ss and worth every cent.

The way this shifter hits the gears will give you alot of confidence and you will never miss 3rd gear again.....I LOVE IT!!!
