Default turbocharge now?

hey guys. I'm saving cash to do my full upgrade of my stang, and not sure if I should go ahead and get the turbo kit now and only run 10 lbs of boost till I get a new block and then hold it at about 15 till I get the rest upgraded.... or should I just hold off and upgrade first, then TC?

10 pounds is to much for the stock internals specifically the pistons they will be broke in 2 seconds with that much boost the max for stock pistons is 6 psi the rods will hold and the crank but the 4.6 stock pistons are weak.

With intercooling and good tuning the stock short block should be able to handle 8-10 psi from a turbo, but as was said the pistons are the weak link it's advisable to at least change those out.

grr, I'm not going to bother with the pistons when I'm going to be getting a shortblock anyhow..... also a question....

If I have evreything reinforced..... think I could stroke and TC the engine?

You can't be serious. I wish someone would have told me that my pistons weren't going to make it with over 2 years @ 12 psi from a blower and turbo setups. Plus a few passes at 16 psi on the bone stock longblock. Boost does not break the pistons, detonation does. We pushed my car into the 10s because we were told by many that the pistons or rods couldn't take it. This has been proven by people that know how to make alot of safe power.

I'd get the Turbo setup now and just run low boost like 5-6lbs. Even at that level, you'll still smoke 98% of the cars out on the street.
