Default Gear swap..

Hey guys..
I have a 2000 GT 5spd i am going to do a gear swap on..
Have searched through the postings on this, and the prevailing theory seems to be that the 4.10s are the best way to go.
first question is, how much more rpm will i be turning compared to the factory gear set at lets say 50mph...
question 2...since the rear end is going to be opened up, would it be worth re building the traction loc setup at the same time..
The car has about 50.000 miles on it and has not been used hard, and as far as i know, it seems to be functioning correctly, but i do not know what the general lifespan is of this setup is, so if the milage dictates that it is getting near the end of its days, it would be better to do it while swapping the gears.
Thanks for any imput...
