Default Friends 98GT vs my 90 LX?

Hello,

After he gets gears, I fear he should beat me pretty easily but here is the competition.

[ His Car: ]
98 GT Mustang
Manual Transmission
Flowmaster Exhaust
3.73 Gears
MAC Cold Air Intake

[ My Car: ]
90 LX Mustang (lighter car...)
Automatic Transmission ( )
Sports tune-up (all ford racing wires, etc...)
and everything else in the signature...

Thanks,
DoranW

Relatively speaking, all other things held constant (like gears), 20 lbs. = 1 hp. So figure out the weight difference and you can make a decent guess who is quicker.

Well his car weighs: 3227 lbs
My car weighs: 2824 lbs

Difference of 403 lbs... (I didn't think my car was that light ), but assuming the 20 lbs per 1 hp, then that would give me an extra 20.15 HP.

But with his more aggressive gears and his manual, do you think I should still be able to beat him? I took out my seats and sub/amp, and it felt like a lot more than 7 HP (140 MAX lbs / 20).

He does have a lot more traction problems than I do (he has the Kuhmo Supra Ecstas...I think that is what they are called), so that could help me out....

Any comments?

Thanks,
DoranW
