Question Tach is wrong!!

I found that my tach is reading wrong bu am not sure how to fix it. It reads around 700 when the engin is off. it seems to have the same idle sound as a couple other mustangs I've been around and they idle around 600-700. The dial faces have been changed but it was before I bought the car.

Any recommendations on how to fix this small problem?

Thanks everyone...

Cool

If it's reading 700 when it's off then pull the cluster, pull off the needle and set it to zero when the car's off. Otherwise invest in an Autometer tach. The stock tach's aren't all that accurate anyways. When the previous owner replaced the gauge faces he didn't put the tach needle back on correctly.

Default Thanks

Thanks.. I was not sure if I could just pull the needle off and adjust it that way or not. How do I get to the needle though?

I don't see anyway of getting into the gauges.
