Default Shifting While Racing With An 01 Gt Manual?

I HAVE A PRETTY MUCH STOCK 2001 GT. I WAS WONDERING AT WHAT RPM SHOULD I BE SHIFTING AT WHEN I'M RACING (STREET, OR TRACK)? SHOULD I TAKE IT TO RED LINE? OR SHOULD I SHIFT BEFORE THEN? IF SO AT WHAT RPM? I'VE HEARD ON SOME STOCK GT'S YOU LOSE POWER AFTER SO MANY RPM'S... IS THAT TRUE? PLEASE HELP.

My best runs when the track is not in the greatest sticky condifitons are shifting close to redline... BUT if you do have great track/traction, then shift around 5200rpm and power it through every gear. I even get third gear loud chirps!

DO YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS WHEN YOU PUSH THE CLUTCH IN TO SHIFT ... OR DO YOU LEAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS AND THEN SHIFT REAL QUICK? WHAT ABOUT ON THE STREET WHAT SHOULD I SHIFT WHEN I STREET RACE?

I don't leave the gas to the metal, but I don't let go of it completely... I'd say I go half throttle between shifts.

Street. Drive it hard. You get better traction on the road. Shift at 5300-5400 RPM and drop it on every gear. SHIFT FAST!
