Default should i buy a stang?

ive always loved firebirds but they cost a lot and i dont know too much about stangs so... what would i need to do to a 99+ mustang gt to be as fast as an ls1? im just trying to figure out if its worthwhile to buy a stang instead of a firebird. thanks for your help.

haha...should you buy a stang...haha...

a gt + a s/c would kick the crap outta of an ls1 and still keep the price well under 30K.

I would say gears, exhaust, and a few bolt ons

and I agree, a blown GT should be in the 12's, therefore kicking a LS-1's butt.

depends on how well modded the ls1 is Most ls1's hit mid to low 12's very easy.

yea......but they also have a higher inital investment for the car. Plus LS-1 parts are more expensive Most LS-1's are in the mid 13 second range stock.

I also wouldn't go as far as to say low 12's "very" easy. They still require a good chunk of change to get going that fast.

low 12's in an ls1 are very easy, with the vette, a little tougher with an f-body.
