Default 96-98 GT T/B question

I have heard that the '96-'98 GT throttle body is really 55mm on the inside even know that it is rated at 65mm. Is this true? Is a stock '99 & up throttle body bigger? I am doing a PI head/cams/intake swap very soon. I was planning on using the stock T/B on my '97 with the PI intake. I can get a '00 stock T/B for almost nothing, Is it worthwhile to use the '00 instead of the '97 T/B?

Thanks
JIM

I would get the 99+ tb to go with the swap and the 99+ is a 65mm I dont know about the 96-98 tbs

are you getting the heads p&p before you put them on
if so I would go with a 70mm

i was under the impression that the stock T/B was 63mm on the inside. oh well, i replaced mine with a Ford SVO 75mm and it made a noticable amount of difference. if you are doing a straight swap then the 99 T/B will be fine. if the PI heads are going to be P&P, then you definitely want to go bigger. what about your MAF? just something to think about. good luck.

I know that a 70mm or 75mm will be better than both, But is the '99 throttle body bigger than the '97 throttle body?

THANKS
