Default What's wrong with this

I tried out my 275/50-15 Drag Radials for the first time last weekend and my car was bogging badly off the line and during shifts.

I was leaving the line at around 1700 which was about the highest I could get the rpms to without spinning the tires (tire pressure was at 16psi). When shifting at about 5900 rpms, the car would kinda bog then too.

Is it because of the stickiness of the tires???

When I left the track and put the tire pressure back up to about 35psi, the car would chirp the tires pretty good while shifting and didn't bog at all.

I don't get it.

Thanks...

16 PSI is usually too low for street legal drag radials...

Start at 20 PSI and work from there... (I wouldn't go below 16...)

Also, some brands need to be "heat cycled" before they hook.

Nittos will work just fine with a mild burn-out at about 20 PSI.

Hope this helps...
