Super Charger.... whats the best?
I put this here, because most the guys in the "Power Adder Forum" are using 302's.
I am going to buy a Supercharger for my stang as soon as i get home in late July, so I've got some time to save up the cash needed. Now i was going to get a turbo kit, but i dont feel like spending $6k. So I want to know everyones opinion on whats the best SC to get for my '97GT. I have been focused on the ProCharger with the intercooler at 10lbs boost for about $3200. I know about forced induction, I've owned several turbo cars to inclued a twin turbo 300Z, and I know the "Pro's & Con's" to both Turbo and SC's. What is your opinions? I know a lot of you have SC's so let me know how yours did.... or what you would have done different...

The Procharger with intercooler is a great kit....
Just watch yourself with 10 lbs boost, you're kind of running the line there. If your car is a daily driver, I'd keep it at 8 lbs. Other things you may need: 30 lb injectors New MAF 255 lph pump If you've got the stock intake, prepare to see it go bye-bye. Plus, be sure to get a dyno tune with that set-up.

IMO turbochargers are better than superchargers. They make more power and it is easy to run whatever kinds of boost you want with a simple boost controller.
However Turbos are more expensive, are a PITA to plumb most of the time and create alot more heat than a Supercharger

like i said before, i will not be getting a turbo. i know they're expesive, i would rather spend $6k on a SC and do the PI head swap, and Bullit intake. Trust me, i know turbos. If i had $20k to spend i would get a turbo set up.
I assumed i would need bigger injectors, fuel pump, MAF, and TB. I know some kits come with a new fuel pump. But I am curious, Hammer, what you ment by, "If you've got the stock intake, prepare to see it go bye-bye." I've heard the stories about N2O killing the plastic intake, and SC's blowing stock head gaskets, but nothen about SC killing the intake?

There is a Tech Service Bulletin out on the original plastic intake that came on the 96-97 GTs. They will not hold up to boost for long. Heck, many of them are croaking under normal use.
Mine cracked within 40 minutes of installing my Procharger, while I've seen a buddy of mine go 6 months with his Vortech. The constant is, the stocker WILL go. It's only a matter of time.

These motorsport heads, you can bolt the SVO or Bullit intake to them right?
Well I found out yesterday I might not be going home as soon as I thought. I might be going to Japan for a few years, and I cant take the 'stang with me. By the time I get back to the states the new models should be out..... if they're gonna look anything like the concept I might get one... As long as Ford doesnt jack up the price for it being a two-seater sports car... We'll see what happens.
