Sputtering at low RPM
My 96 GT has an anoying habit of sputtering at low RPM. Like when I take a sharp right corner and have to gear down into second, probably should gear down to first, then step on the gas again to accellerate. At one time it even seen to back fire. I have taken the car in for a tune up, new plugs, checked the wires, cleaned the the MAF meter. Still does it. Most noticable when the engine is hot. It also does the sputter thing when I am letting out the clutch at low RPM. Any one with any ideas what may cause this. Thanks

Lugging an engine is one of the worst things you can do, these SOHC modular 4.6s like to rev, I have a hard time keeping my car at high rpms, cause I think that I'm hurting it, but it is actually better for the car. When you lug your car, the timing gets out of wack, and the PCM is trying to get up into higher rpms by dumping tons of fuel in, try to keep your car above 2000 rpms when driving around town. Closer to 3000 if you can. If you still have a problem, then I will have to think about it a little more, but I think that it is just your driving habits.
