How to remove fuel rails/injectors?
Hey ya'll,
I'm in the middle of replacing the intake( cheap plastic piece of @&*@ ) and i need to know how to remove the fuel rails and injectors. Anything i need to look out for when removing the intake? All the bolts are out and it is loose, only thing holding in is fuel rails and maybe the rear heater tube. Thanks.

Not sure if it the same way, but most fuel rails have a spring loaded connection.I can't remember what they are called, but you can go to a local parts store and get the tools neccessary. The package says it is for a/c removal, but they are just round pieces of plastic that come in different sizes.I would put rags in all of the intake holes while you are working on it, just in case some "friend" drops a bolt down one. That was a lot of fun.

Figured out how to do it! Just removed the four bolts ( two on each side) and pulled the rail off. The injectors pulled straight out with no problems. Gas went all over but no big deal. I used a shop vac with a small hose taped to the big one and vaced out each intake hole. Clenaed everything up. What a ***** it was to replace the intake. Had to remove everything including the alternater and waterpump pully. Alot more work than I thought. here is a pic of the intake removed.

Nice car, I'm dreading the day I have to tear into mine. The old 5.0s were simple, but i'm not real familiar with the mod motors internals.

The Mods are surprisingly easy once you get the wires and fuel rails out of the way. The clearances are close but any car above the late 70's was really cramped under the hood. If you have a 10mm socket and opened end wrench you can take off 80% of the bolts. There are a few bolts that I have no idea how you could ever get to them. Damn engineers!
