Default Need help fast with cam install

Hey guys, I got some cams for Christmas and I was quoted 9 hours for the install. This seemed really high to me. Does anyone know what the usual install time is?

There is alot more involved than you would think. 9 hours may be on the high side. They are probably trying to be on the safe side. If they have not done many of these it could well take them that long. Mine took 5 - 6 hours with help from a master ford mech. We BS'ed a little and I did all the labor work so figure that into the equation. We did a few things we may have not needed to do but I wanted to do a more than thourough job. You may want to shop around just to be sure.

P.S. - It is mucho important that the timing chains and gears are all done perfect!! That is where the mistakes can happen.

Mine took me 6 hours to do by myself. The cams are real easy to replace. most of the time is spent on changing the valve springs.
Make sure you replace them or the factory springs will coil bind.
I have the competition cams in mine and I love them
And yes make sure the timing chains are perfect.

Good Luck
