Default Rocker arm and lash adjuster ? Hammer you out there?

I'll be changing a friends cams this weekend to the PI cams. We will be using the Anderson Ford Cam Chain Retention tool. The directions say to pop off the rocker arms with a flat screwdriver and pull out and compress the lash adjusters in a vise. Any tricks to popping the arms off and removing / replacing the adjusters? Would this be needed when just changing to a PI cam?

thanks
