96 Cobra in parts...
I am new to this forum and not sure what to do. Perhaps, one of you experts can give good advice. Here it goes...
About three years ago, my son decided to remove the engine from our 1996 Mustang Cobra w/supercharger. In the process, the main compressor (?) was stolen. We took the engine to get rebuilt. They were to recondition the rods, replace the pistons, hone the block, polish the crank, surface the heads, etc. I'm having problems getting them to complete the work and reassemble it. Questions: Can the rods be reconditioned or should we put in new rods? (I have new ones but to save costs I am trying to sell them) Can the engine be economically returned to stock without the charger? How can I get out of this mess at the cheapest cost so I can sell the vehicle and get the most out of it? Please help a Dad with very little mechanical skills. Thanks. |
