Hi-po Computer

I'm looking thru an aftermarket catalogue that I have and it lists a "High Performance Engine Computer" for the 4.6L SOHC engine. I believe it is a Ford Motorsport SVO part. The part # is M12650B461 . What does this computer actually change? What kind of power gains? How much does it cost? Thanks!

Dino, it is probably a more aggressive computer with a better air fuel ratio. Its just like putting in a Cobra computer in you r Fox body. You would have to check the back of the FMS catalog for the price. If I were you, I would not waste your money. Go out and get gears instead.

Dino,

That's the SVO computer for use with the 4.6L SOHC hi-po heads. It is necessary unless you get a custom chip burnt (burned? Any grammar freaks out there?) for the new cylinder heads. It's flashed specifically to work with the SVO heads, so it'd probably work like crap on your stock motor...
