Dowsides of removing Air Silencer
I just removed my air silencer on my 1999 Mustang GT. It seems to have given me a slight gain in power and the engine sounds better also. Are there any downsides that I should know about which might make me wanna put it back on? Thanks

I got mine pulled also. Some people say not to do that unless you a K&N (or similiar), because of the extra dirt that has the potential to get in there.
Dyno numbers are mixed, but I think it is worth while. On a dyno the cars sitting still, so even with the fan it doesn't get as much air as it would if it were moving. Anyway, no serious downfalls, probably some little gain. Costs nothing, so its probably worth while. |
