Post 99-00 speedo/gears

does anyone here know if the dealer can reprogram the speedo for new gears???

They might, but most probably won't... You need a compensator from Abbot, Sean Hyland, or some one else. They're a permanant and accuriate fix.

the reason I asked was I have the ford dealer programimg tool. Just don't know how or the proper steps to use it for changing gears. thanks for the input

Don't most people just change the speedo gear when they change the diff gears? They are cheap and easy.

The 99 and later Mustangs don't use speedo gears. Its done electronically.

I'm not sure if its adjustable with a reprogrammer.

Ive called many dealers asking if they have a way to change the speedometer and most mentioned the abbott speed compensator..I got a Ford Motorsport Techline from the web somewhere. The number is 810-468-1356. They mentioned the abbott also..
