Unhappy Problems W\96 Cobra

Hey Guys Need Help

My friend has a 96 Cobra the car is stock except for pulleys and h pipe and flowmaster w\ a 3.73 gear

we changed out the 3.73 gear for a set of 4.30 but the problem is that it seems to have made no difference in the car the car does not wind out faster or anything the car feels just like it still has the 3.73 gear in it so we pulled the cover off to make sure the was a 4.30 gear in there and there is we are lost and have no idea why the car is acting like this any help would be greatly appcriated

thanks

Try the top speed calculator on this website. See what your rpms should be at a certain speed with the 4.30's, then go for a drive and test it out. Then you'll know for sure if you have 4.30's or if it just says so on the gear. If you are indeed running 4.30's it's possible that something is wrong, and you'll have to have it checked out... Otherwise try to get some solid track numbers so you really know if it's faster or not...

Cool

It should be pulling like a madman with the 4.30's, mine is.

Jack the car up from the diff. Get under the car right by the driveshaft. Put a mark at some point on the driveshaft. Have your friend turn the rear wheel one whole revolution while you count how many times the driveshaft turns. If it turns 4.3 times, than you have 4.30's. 3.7 turns would be 3.73's. Get it???

Later, Jason
