Looking for easy way to reach 12's
Currently running 13.50(1.87 short time) in 2000GT/5speed
Only mods done are MAC coldair pipe and MAC 2 1/2"catback. I use 275/50-15 drag T/A's for traction. Everything else is stock and not sure what to go with next. I know H-pipe is a big help but which brand does anyone recommend. Also who makes the best long tube headers? As for gearing 3.73 or 4.10 for street/strip car, I'm at a hangup here on this one. Any other items I could try besides superchargers or nitrous would be helpful. Oh has anyone noticed that with T-45 any gear whine after 3000rpm launches? |

I drive my car 70 miles round trip with my 4.10's and haven't looked back since. If your looking for 12's don't even bother with 3.73's. Get an Offroad H and pullies that will give you a good 15-20 HP. I have a MAC but if you don't mind spending the extra $$ go with BBK. Both will fit but BBK fit and finish has a better quality. Not sure about the long tubes but something else you could consider is having your car dyno tuned. Mail order chips won't do much but a custom tune can add a good amount.
Throttle body and MAF will only give minimal gains on our 2v cars. Maybe 5HP total. ------------------ 00 GT, K&N, MAC Tree Killer, Pullies, 4.10’s, 2 chamber Flowmasters, UPR shifter, Weld Pro Stars, Nitto DR’s 13.21@100.90 (1.87 60ft) M/M 100 88 LX coupe X-FHP, 12pt Cage, UPR K-member, 31 spline rear, full spool, more to come |

MAC is the only company I know of that currently makes long tube headers for the GTs. Maybe Sean Hyland also. But if go that route it comes with a H-pipe.
As far 12s. A set of 4.10s + long tubes + your DR would probably get you there, or least pretty darn close. While you are doing gears, you should probably get a set of subframe connecters also. BTW, what was the trap speed for your 13.5? ------------------ AIM: Some97Snake |

Trap speed was 99.97mph when I ran the 13.50. I only use 3rd gear when crossing line at end. Shift at 6000rpm.
I found that BBK makes long tubes and Hooker also, though Summit shows Hookers no longer available. I may lean towards BBK longtubes and short h-pipe with cats. Not to crazy anout MAC's quality after the catback I put on. |

hey bro, not sure which company is better, but defintely get Equal length headers, 3.73 is fine for your 4.6, 4:10's will over rev your engine and are more for the cobra 32v engine. 3:73's are fine,so get the headers, gears, a vlv job, and then get a custom chip for your setup. That should bring down your time a little.laterz

I think the gears and the long tubes will do it for you. Go with some pulleys and an offroad H-pipe or a hi flow cat one, and Im sure you'll be hittin 12.7-12.8's.

Thanks for input. I will also being using the BBK long tube headers and short h-pipe with cats. Other things I have decided on are
FRP aluminum driveshaft Subframe connectors Underdrive pulleys Rear control arms(havent decided which brand yet) I want to leave motor as stock as possible to see how fast car can really go with it. So if I can get all above done by beginning of march then I will hopefully find out in Orlando. |

You would make more power without the cats but if emissions is strict in your area I guess you would stick with them. With what you listed, plus 4.10's and you should be pretty much there. See you in Orlando.
