Bullitt on the portly side.....
New MM&FF weighed a new bullitt at the track and w/ a driver and full tank of gas the car weighed in at 3900lbs. No wonder we haven't seen the "hp increase" show up in decreased ET's. Hopefully Ford can keep the weight down on the rumored to be released Mach 1.

In typical MMFF fashion, it appears they screwed that up too.

The car weighs no where near 3900, unless it had a 650lb driver on board! They need to stop reading the gross vehicle weight from the door jam sticker.

They said that was the weight w/ a driver and full tank of gas when weighed on the digital scale at Raceway Park (Englishtown, NJ.) They claimed they couldn't believe it either, and weighed it again. But then he went on to explain how it could get the extra weight.
Minus him and the gas, the car was still 250#'s heavier then a normal GT. Here's how he put the extra weight (being generous in his words): 15 lbs for bigger anti roll bars 20 lbs for special seats 10 lbs per wheel = 40 lbs 40 lbs for intake over GT plastic Subframes, rocker sills, different exhaust, pedal pads, fuel door. He then goes to say that he still thinks its hard that those items added 250 lbs. Anyway, I just thought it was interesting that it was that heavy. |

Thnaks. It seems like evry day I find some stuff in that Mag that is just BS. Like their test on those iridium plugs. The whole article is saying it was tested on 5.4 Excursion, but then they refer to it as a 4V the whole time (excursion is a 2V) and the dyno plot even says "KB Nav" (kenny brown Navigator.) So who even knows what the hell the dyno plots were of.

MMFF contradicts themselves all the time. I quit buying that rag. I'll buy one every now and then when I need a new catalog full of up-to-date ads.
