Question 97 GT Drivetrain

What tranny do 97's have? Is it a T-5 or what? If so, how hard would it be to bolt on a Cobra clutch and a tri-ax shifter?

97 GT has the T45 Transmission. The shifter will be no problem. The Cobra clutch should also not be an issue, but I'm not sure. You may want to check on the clutch.

Default Good Deal

Sweet. I definitely need to swap out the clutch(everybody sucks when they start out...). I want the short-throw tri-ax and I guess that I can keep the stock tranny for now. In two years that may be a different story because I may get a blower or supercharger and I don't want it to take a dump on me.

The T45 will not hold up to a blower. Ask Hammer

The Cobra clutch must be stronger, should fit, I'd double check though.
