Best Entry Level Mods for a 01 GT?
Would like to know what are the best mods (best bang for the buck) to put on a 01 GT?
Thanks, Jeff 90 GT |

These are your basic proven mods that do work.
4.10 gears Drag Radials Offroad H or X Steeda Pullies Steeda Timing Adjuster K&N A few other non power adding mods that should be done early on are... Subframe connectors Aftermarket shifter The above power mods above in a 5 speed car will run mid 13's fairly easy. These in my car with drag suspension and practice was good for 13.09 and with slicks 12.89. Bill

Wow...
Really Mustang92? Thats impressive for sure.
Did you just drop in 4banger rear springs? What kind of tires did you run? 12.89 is a damn fine time man. |

Its all in the launch and the setup....
Mustang92 has competitive times (and I have over a 100 hp advantage) with mine because he has a balanced set-up including suspension mods.... I'm really impressed with his entire setup... Back to the original question.... If you're running a 5 speed, I think 3.73 is a better street gear than the 4.10. But that's just my opinion... Other good starter mods are: shifter subframe connectors pullies

The rear springs are actually 88 GT convertible springs cut 1/4 coil, the fronts are 4cyl fox body springs uncut. For track tires I use 26x8.5 ET Drags. Bill |

The best bang for the buck is going to be opening up the exhaust.
Get some stright thru mufflers like the Magnaflow or Borla. Stay away from the SLOWMASTERS. http://www.magnaflow.com/05magazine/05corralnet.htm Read this article you will be amazed.

Without a doubt the fastestcheapest way to go fast is Nitrous, other than that, it would be a gear and tires, then open the exhaust up.
