I know that my stock GT has 260hp. Thats at the (what)?? I think from what I have read people are getting about 235-240 RWHP. My goal for now is 300RWHP. So how can I acheive this? Please only serious answears only. I really take replies seriously so thanks everyone...

I thought we only got something like 210-220 to the wheels..... but the 260 at at the crank before it goes through the clutch, trani, differential and wheels.
for 300 to thr ground.... bullit intake, long tube headers, strait through exhaust, pullys, and upgraded ignition system with a bit more fuel...... also is nice to get a dyno and a custom burned ECU for the car so it can manage the air and fuel better. that should get you close to 300 at least. could always take the easy way out and get a ati procharger with 8 lbs of boost.... will get ya some odd 320-375 with just that on a stock engine.... I'll be doing that myself in the comming months..... later get a SHM 5.4 modular longblock and raise the ATI to 12 or 14 lbs to give me over 600..... lost of options.... much easier with a blower though and in the end it might be marginallly different in cost. a 99GT makes 260hp at the flywheel. A 5-speed will lose around 18% through the drive train. So to get 300rwhp your gonna need around 355 hp at the flywheel. An increase of around 95hp. I would say a blower would the the best way to go to make this kind of hp.
Torinalth : A "bullit intake, long tube headers, strait through exhaust, pullys, and upgraded ignition system with a bit more fuel..." isn't gonna net you 300rwhp. Not even close. And your estimates for the blower are on the high side. To get 375rwhp the 4.6 would have to make around 440hp...an increase of 180hp. Your not gonna see that with blower added to a stock motor.

I guess a blower would be the way to go. By the time you pay for all the bolt ons and the labor I may as well get blown!! Awesome info thanks guys!!

Spray bore 5.0, SHM stroker, Fox lake Stage 3 heads with a custom roller cam. Add longtubes prochamber ultraflows and some pulleys for good measure. All that and a bullitt intake should have you there no problem.
Or just spray it with a 150 shot and cross every appendage you have.

stroker kit alone is expensive, and with new heads and a cam you have already priced passed a blower....
ATI procharge it.... cheaper than vortech, and in my opinion one of the best.... I'll be getting a stage 2 with 8 lb pully in 4-5 months. Torinalth

How much is the procharger going to run ya Tor? Are you installing it yourself? If not what is the cost about on labor?

Buddy of mine has a 96 Mystic Vobra, he added a s-trim vortech pulley'd for 9psi, aftercooler, 80mm maf, pulleys, headers, stock fuel system, catted h-pipe and flows, and 4.10 gears and it made 467rwhp. Now he's upgraded to a PHP ported intake, long tubes, aeromotive fuel pump and regulator, forged internals, 14lb T-trim, couple other things and spun 543rwhp on 93 octane. So josh your totals are dead wrong. sorry bud.

I completely know that it a very expensive way to get 300rwhp. It was basically in response to the post that told him he would need a spray bore and stroker kit, etc. I just wanted him to know he could do it with bolt on's.
I personally would go the way of a power adder.

which is why i'm going the same route he is, ati charger with 8lbs, long tubes, x pipe, and basanistrait throughs.
ati stage 2 with 8lbs will run 3500 or so, and to answer your question, yes, I will install it myself. I'd love to turbo the GT, but the install will cost too much or put my car out of commision for too long if i do it myself. that and when going from a 8-12 lbs you can change from 350 to close to 500 with a change of a gear.... just gotta get the block ready for the 12.... and a 5.4 modular longblock might just do it Torinalth

well it all depends on you and how much cash you have but it can be done every one will say add a S/C or NOS but you can do it all motor you would need to have the heads worked on ported and polished, new or reground cams, long tube headders, bigger injectors, fuel pump, and of course all the regular bolt ons, and a tuned chip that should get you to 300rwhp if you want more mill the heads some to up the compression more or you can swap out your pistons and replace them with a 10.5:1 pistons hope this helps

With a otherwise stock car I doubt that you'll see a 180hp increase with the addition of a blower.

well you can see thouse kinds of numbers but you will need like 15lbs of boost with a intercooler and some good exsoust and you should see on a 2valve motor like 440rwhp on a cobra you will see 525 rwhp but of course the rods wont hold that power for long , they will snap in two but your right a blower alone wont do it
