Default How Long does it actually take for a shorty header install that fits like OEM?

I need to know so I can budget, I have these ford racing direct oem replacment shorty headers, got new gaskets but I need new bolts but doesnt the average shop charge 50 bucks an hour? I'm worried about it being like 400-500 bucks for the install from what I heard but wouldn't like 4-5 hours be enough since they have a lift? This is on a 96 mustang gt with the mods listed in my sig below so I would really love to know if like someone works in a shop on here or has had them done, thanks

shop prices can vary I have seen 45 per hr up to 85 per hr

a they will take around 5-6 hrs but I would have gone with long tubes I have yet to see anyone dyno better with shoties or pick up any time at the track on a n/a mod motor combo

I wish I could have got longtubes too but when I first got the car I just had to make it loud so I put flows and a bbk h-pipe on as fast as I could and if I were to go longtubes I'd have to dish out for longtubes and a new mid-pipe but shorties are better then the stock being stock exhaust ports share that whole long tube so might as well being I got a very good deal on these headers and maybe a smoother exhaust note......

Dang - I pay $80-100/hr around here for labor. I'd say 4-5 hours is a good guess for what most shops would charge you for a header install. Shorties really aren't that tough to install yourself if you have a couple jack stands and some basic tools.

Took me about 16 hours by my self! With full lift, and all the right tools.

Just ensure you get the right hardware! I could not the my JBAs over the stock studs so I had to over night some STAGE 8s which was a good choice anyways.

You will need lots of patience and many beers!
