SOHC Heads?
OK guys I need some help. I have a 96 GT with a 5-spd. mostly stock except a K&N and no mufflers. I want to do a head swap to the 99-up heads this May or June. Where are some good places to buy an head/manifold kit. looking at the $1000-$2000 range. I would also like some opinions or advice from people who have done this since I will be installing them my self, and need to know what posible dificultes I am in for.

I saw a web site, Ford motor products, I think, that had the headswap kit for 1,100.00 complete. It included heads, intake and install kit. I'll check the site address when I get to work later. I believe the prices will fall as more people buy this upgrade. maybe by this summer the price will be below 1,000.00/ It won't be long before the aftermarket companies start a price war for this item!

5.0 or 4.6?
I'm certainly not an expert but aren't the '96s 5.0s and not 4.6? The '99 heads are for 4.6. You should be able to find more of a selection for the 5.0... Maybe I'm wrong and they switched over that year... If so... nevermind...

The '96 are 4.6.. that is the year that they switch over. I always have to think about it though.

You never did, really. My brother lives in San Antonio. I know from visiting that Texans love their horsepower as much as they love their firepower. He's been bugging me to leave Motown behind and head for TX. So, are the Texas belles as pretty as they say? |
