Question C&L Mass Air for 2002

Is it true that the C&L Mass air kit for a '01 will not fit an '02? Are these worth the 280 bucks they charge?

It is true, the C&L MAF kits for 01's will NOT fit 02's. The housing for the 02's is slighty bigger(85mm) compared to the 99-01(80mm). C&L claims close to a 20 horsespower gain but I HIGHLY doubt that much. Although I must say, I have read good reviews about the C&L MAF kits.

Agreed. 85mm Kit is the one to get for the 02 GT. I have done quite a bit of reading (reviews, articles, etc.) that say various different things about the C&L kit. Some love it, Some hate it. I have also been looking into the Pro-M (Granettelli) kits but they are $100-$150 more than C&L. My brother-in-law's family owns a speed shop chain so I can get the Pro-M a little cheaper than that. Overall, I have not heard any negativity toward the Pro-M (www.Pro-Flow.com) kit besides the additional cost. I have not made any mod to my car that I have not either physically seen work its magic (at the track on other ponies) or done extensive reading first. My personal opinion.

After doing some more research, I decided to stay away from the MAF kits. I just installed the DENSECHARGER cold air intake and it is great! Its an awesome addition if you are looking to upgrade your induction. Its getting rave reviews compared to its competitors CAI's(MAC/BBK). Just my 2 cents.

I got a C&L today in the mail and it works great. No "Check Engine," no idling problems, smooth performance. Fifteen mintes was all it took to bolt it on. I go to the track tomorrow night, so I will report on the results.

Until you throw a blower on, your not gonna see MAX results from the C&L. Just my opinion!

After an night at a HUMID track, I saw about a tenth better average that the previous comparable night (two weeks ago). Was it worth it? Yeah, I guess. Does anyone have any REAL time comparisons that they could offer? You are right. MAX performance will ba seen the more you modify the engine.

Default Welcome stanggt2002 to the.....

biggest waste of money, what did you gain 1-2 rwhp if lucky? I have a BBK cai induction I just sold to some dumb assclown in high school, hopefully he justed wanted the chrome look, cause as far as power he won't see anything at all. I know, what the hell do I know? well I could feel atleast a little difference with the C&L over the cai. I beleive in a write up in MM&FF they tested the C&L, hmmm.... I didn't see any mention of a cold air kit, anybody else?? Sorry dude, I tried to tell you earlier T.A.; pulleys; shifter; and C&L. Hell Bill runs the C&L, but he doesn't run the mystical powered CAI kit
