Default Tire Size

i have a 96 cobra and im wanting to put 275 40's on my stock rims woundering if they would fit. thanks

I've seen people squeeze them on to an 8 inch wheel, but its not a very good idea. The sidewalls end up looking like:

/___\

which defeats the purpose of using wider tires. You really need a 9 (or larger) inch wheel to run a 275 mm tire.
