Default GT Seats

Ok this may be a weird topic but does anybody have any idea how to make the my '96 GT seats more suitable for a person under 5 foot?

My wife is only 4'11" and she doesn't like riding in the car because of the arch of the seat doesn't let her rest her head back. I am thinking about looking for totally new seats but wanted to know if any body had any recommendations about what to do.

If anybody has any idea at all, I would much appriciate it. As long as the wife is happy I can keep putting mods on my stang

dont quote me on this, but i think they made covers that will suit your wifes need.. such as ones with the top thicker then the bottom. not the best looking, but its an alternative, if that helps?

I think you might be S.O.L. on that one. The design of the SN95 Model seats is supposed to be 'old school' and the headrest is too far back to be useful. You could get some aftermarket racing seats which are a bit more supportive. I'd like to find the Bullitt seats but I haven't yet. You can buy almost all of the Bullitt parts from Ford but why not the seats? Does anyone know if you can buy these seats? They are much more comfortable and supportive than the stock GT seats.

Thanks for your replies. I am willing to buy new seats. The wife doesn't like to promote me 'upgrading' my stang because she knows I would go all out.

Do you think the seats from a '99 or newer bolt up? I think they are little more comfortable. I can get them from a junkyard (there are quite a few crazy drivers in PA). I am going to start searching for new seats and if I find anything I will post it for everyone that cares.

I found some seats at www.restoremustangs.com. they calain they are like the classic mustang seats but all the classics I have been in do not have these high back seats so I do not know if they would be better or not. Also the prices are $1339.95 a pair. ouch!!!

Is this a reasonable price? has anyone actually sat in these type of classic seats?

That's a good price if they are leather. I'd recommend someleather Recaros from Saleen. They are like $1000 per seat but they are barnone the best seats you can buy. I'd get them but if I had an extra $2G lying around it would go toward perforamnce parts.
