Performance chips!
Hi guys, its me again. Do any of you smart guys ( and gals
 ) know what kinda performance chip I could put in my 98 GT? I want one but how much do they cost and how much HP do they add? And, can I install it myself? Thanks in advance! ------------------ 1998 Mustang GT with a 4.6 liter V8, Black |

Install yourself? Yes, pretty easy. Need a wrench or socket(forget what size, but standard.)
What kind? SHM (http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com), superchips(www.superchips.com), Johnson Motorsports(http://www.jmschip.com/). But there are much more productive things you can do for the same money. Gears. other bolt-ons. Most important advise: A chip will do little for you without a actual dyno tune, and/or without significant other modications. |

I agree with 97Snake. Don't waste your money.
The time for a chip is after moderate mods, and you need a dyno tune to get everything working correctly... Get some 3.73s and a shifter. Ditto on Hammer and 97snakedriver. Don't mess with the chip. For about the price of the chip get your 3.73s put in. Trust us. A chip is useless right now. (unless you burn rice)
