1996 Mustang Gt KBBK Air Intake
My friend has a 96 mustang Gt and he got a BBK Air Intake He was wondering how much Horsepower gain will he get from the Intake as well as an BBk Offroad X-Pipe. It would be helpfull if you could let me know the horsepower as well as what you think about The BBk Intake and X-Pipe. Thanks and have a great day.

Re: 1996 Mustang Gt KBBK Air Intake
Unfortunately the heads, cam, and intake are very restrictive on those cars so he will see very little gain adding things on the intake and exhaust side since those things are not the bottleneck. I would guess no noticeable gain from the CAI and maybe 5-10 rwhp from the O/R x-pipe.
You can get the stuff for a PI swap (heads, cams, and intake from a 99-04) and that would net him a nice gain. Unfortunately, with the stock heads cam and intake even a supercharger on those 96-98 GTs doesn't get you as much power gain compared to other mod motors.

Re: 1996 Mustang Gt KBBK Air Intake
I have seen 4.6s lose power with a CAI, with the mid pipe maybe like said above 5-10 but I think it would be more around 5

Re: 1996 Mustang Gt KBBK Air Intake
i have a bbk o/r x pipe on my 87 stang and i love it. i know the motor in my car is 100% different then a 4.6 but there isn't much difference in the power. you will usually get betweek 5-10hp depending on the supporting mods to you car.
