Default Question

Hi guys, I have one question or I don’t know if it’s a problem in my car. I have a 2000 GT manual gear and I’m hearing sound when I shift the gear (normal shift) to any numbers especially when I release the clutch, the sound like something lose in the gear box or some ware else down and I don’t know if this sound is normal or not. Please help me with your comments…. Regards

I've purchased a few short throw shifters for my cars, and every time the instructions say that they will be louder then stock. And the reason for that is because it removes the rubber boot that's located on the shifter itself and you can hear the sounds the transmission makes. Those sounds are usually normal though. You just can't hear them because of the rubber boot.So maybe your rubber boot was taken off,or the car had a short throw shifter already installed without you knowing it by the previous owner. My shifter makes noise too by the way.

Jaegermeister2k thanks bro for your replay but regarding the short throw shifter I’m planning to install it this weekend but the problem when I bought the car before 5 month it was very smooth and it’s nearly new car right it’s 2000 but just now I reach the 11000.00 KM mileage so way I’m hearing this sounds I really don’t know? Maybe of changing the ratio gear because the previous owner has changed the ratio to 3:55.

it could be the throw out bearing is bad get under the car and remove the clutch arm cover undo the cable and reach in and check the throw out bearing.it should spin freely with side load applied. if not thats the problem
