Default Better intakes for the '99-'02 GT

Is the new FR High Flow intake any better than the stock intake on the '99-02 GT intake? Will it even fit the '99-'02 or only the '96-'98? What about the Bullitt intake? Also where can I get the Bullitt intake, I haven't seen it available anywhere. I'm investing in ported heads and new cams for my '99, so I'd like to upgrade the intake as well.

In my opinion they're not worth the price for how much horsepower you gain unless you already have forced induction. Otherwise there are more effective ways of getting your money's worth in horsepower.

The FR500 intake is for the Cobra 4v motor not the GT 2v motor. In other words it won't fit. You can get the bullitt intake from any Ford parts dealer. As for if it's worth it that is really in the eye of the beholder. At the current price I would say no. For what I paid for it, $1000, it was more than worth it since I picked up a solid 2 tenths and 2 MPH at the track.

You know what would be real nice. An intake for the GT which basically followed the stock architecture.

A phenolic/aluminum piece would be real nice.

I dunno how compromised the stock piece is, but it looks like it responds to more plenum volume?

Cool

The FRPP intake is better than stock.
The FRPP intake pkg is expensive but with FI it would be worth the price.

I guess it depends on what your goals are?

My goals are 450-500 hp naturally aspirated with pump gas. Can that even be done with the 4.6 2V or am I just waisting my time? If that won't work how about the SHM 5.2?

I don't know if I would call it wasting your time.

There are other methods to reach that goal though.
You might be better severed looking at a larger displacement motor to reach those goals NA.

Yes you are pretty much wasting your time. Your better off with a 4v motor, then stroking that. I've heard of rumors of a 2v car making 350RWHP which works out to 411FWHP and that is with a stroker kit, ported heads, cams, bullitt or SVO intake, high compression, etc... If you have loads of cash and don't mind having a pretty much non-streetable car I'm sure you can get close.
