Post Blower for modular engine

Ok....I'm really new to modular engines and need some advice. I'll soon be buying either a 99-00 GT or a later model (97-00) Cobra and I'm planning for a blower. I've narrowed my choices down to ATI Procharger and Kenne Bell. Anyone have insight as to which would be better? I'm looking for some pretty serious power (at least 400rwhp) since this will basically be my only mod. The complication of the ATI kits doesn't matter since I live right down the street and could have them install it. I know the Kenne Bell adds a lot more low end, but I would like around 12lbs of boost and I can't run that with a Kenne Bell on a stock engine without the detonation worries. I know all the ins and outs of the 5.0L engines but I'm pretty clueless about 4.6Ls.

Cool

Go with the 99-00 GT or 99 Cobra (320 hp). The 4.6 heads and intake in those engines are much better than the 96-98 GT. 215 (96-97), 225 (98), vs 260 hp in (99-00)? Though the 96-98 Cobra would be good too. They had 305 hp. hmmm... Start off with the better heads/intake and you will benefit so much more from a supercharger. If it were me I'd go with the ATI Procharger. I believe it comes with intercooler. I've seen it for around $3199 or so. More boost from the ATI and more effiecient w/the intercooler I would think.

Go with the ATI, they are very popular with modular motors next to the Vortech and Paxton. The KB, will run out of steam up high, and will probably limit the amount of power you can produce. The ATI has proven itself on many 4.6 applications, and is a better choice than the KB if you want to hit the 400 mark. Also, 96GTS was right about getting the newer cars, the GT's are all that much better because they come stock with high flow heads, so you don't have to change them to get more power (some mild porting is all you'll ever need). The older Cobras are less objectionable, and also there are a lot of problems with the 99's. If you don't want to wait until November or December for a 2001 Cobra, I would say stick with a new GT or older Cobra....

Roots type blowers have the advantage in that they make full boost early. Centrifical blowers are good because they do what the DOHC wants to do: Rev!

As far as car: 99 Cobra are the best engine, but be ready to monkey around with the suspension. 99-00 GTs = Good. 260 is a guestemate at best. In general they dyno and run better then that. The 96-98 Cobras are also a good choice. They fall short of the 99 in power and torque, but the intake and heads do actually flow better. Blower? Don't mind if I do!

Oh yeah.

With blowers and Cobras: Don't play the dyno game. Cobras LOVE blowers and boost (power out the wazoo). But they also have 9.85:1 compression, which doesn't love blowers. Byte the hp bullet, run it rich (richer then you think), and it will run forever. Run it "normal" or leanish, and maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually that #7 piston will do a heck of a good burnt toast impression.
