Where to buy Gears??
???? who has good prices, im lookin at either 3.73's or 4.10's for my 99 gt auto, should i go to just any old mechanic to have him put these in?? im not good with car repairs and stuff , thanks guys, also just for teh heck of it give me your opinions on 3.10's vs 4.10's for a 99 auto gt, bye!

4.10's should be the best for an Auto GT. You can get the FRPP gears from Summit Racing for $180. The only problem with gears is that most people don't have tools or facilities to install them themselves so you'll need another $200 for installation at a local shop. It's worth the coin though. Your ET's will drop a good .5 sec or so and your car will be more fun on the street.

I agree, I would go with FRPP gears for a stang. I wouldn't go with some cheap no-name gear set. I ordered mine though Steeda but they are FRPP and came in the Ford box. It cost me 400 to have mine installed locally. They replaced all bearings, rebuilt the ford posi unit and added clutches to it, installed the gear set, speedo calibration gear, and put on my SVO support cover. Also, make sure you get the Ford Friction Modifier when you have them put the gears back in.

FRPP gears are probably the best, I hear. There is a group purchase going for these at Blue Oval News right now.
