Default New Best ET

It was a good night in South Florida! We had a weather front come through early this week bringing what will more than likely be the last cool weather till November. Conditions were mid to low 70's, 55-63% humdity and barometer in the low 30's.

Aside from the second pass all passes tonight were made on the limiter (6250 or 6050 which ever it is). Also on the first pass the car bogged from having it on the limiter too long. All passes I shifted the car at 5800-5900 with 10.5lbs of air in the tires.

60' 1.66 1.65 1.62 1.63 1.64 1.63
330 5.12 5.07 5.04 5.05 5.08 5.04
1/8 8.01 7.94 7.91 7.91 7.95 7.90
mph 85.64 86.18 86.55 86.09 86.38 86.80
1000 10.50 10.42 10.39 10.39 10.44 10.38
1/4 12.60 12.52 12.49 12.49 12.53 12.47
mph 107.87 108.52 108.09 108.48 108.23 108.56

All items in bold are new bests for me and all were on the last pass. Sad thing is I know the car has a little more in it since I was cutting 1.59-1.60 60 foots in Bradenton. I also did find out where I run out of gear at. As I cross the last beams the car is right on the limiter. I may be able to squeeze out another .5 MPH but that's about it I've now maxed out gearing on my car.

I can finally say I have a true mid 12 second car!

Bill

5th gear? Why would I be in 5th gear? I cross the traps in 4th just about on the limiter.

Sorry but there is no way you are in 4th gear with an automatic with stock gears. For starters if you went WOT into OD with nitrous your overdrive band wouldn't last but a few passes and second 3rd gear in an auto doesn't top out with stock gears till 120+ MPH.

Yes I'm going for the 11 second club but not with nitrous I can do it on the motor with a little more work. Nitrous will be saved for mid to high 10 second passes after the car is legal. I run in combo or dial in, however I doubt I'll be out there the next couple of weeks due to races out of state coming up.

Maybe I said it wrong....I don't get to OD...My OD is OFF the entire time and I still have 1000rpm's left at the end...Can't wait to change my gears "again", underdirve pulleys, higher stall converter, Dialo 2 Stage chip and 150 shot, sunframe connectors, slicks and WATCH OUT!

Okay that makes much more sense. Your actually crossing in 3rd gear with another 1000 RPM's to go which based on your MPH and ET is where you should be. The converter should make a huge difference.

Sorry i was wondering what gear you cross the line in with those gears. what do you have again 4.56's? are they alright for every day driving. When i had my old mustang that is in my sig i shifted into fourth right before the finish line and thats with 3.55's.

Sorry for taking the question wrong my bad. I have 4.30's in the car with a 26" tire and those gears you top out 4th gear at 6250 RPM and about 108-109 MPH. I drive the car daily without any problems at all but I'm pretty tolerant and don't street race. I'm sure someone that is a bit more agressive on the gas would have some traction problems.
