Question What's the real scoop on T/A's?

I'm thinking about getting my timing adjusted (Steeda)..what kind of gains are there? What "side effects" are there? Is it worth it?

Cheers

The dyno results I saw on a newer GT showed about an 8 hp increase to the wheels. Throttle response also improves, especially down low. The only downside is that you have to run premium fuel.

2-3 months ago (in MM&FF, i think) there was an article about bolt-ons. t/a was well worth the purchase and they gave specifics on how and what they did. try looking it up. 8hp @ ~11 degrees if i remember.

on the negative side, i believe it can be more difficult to start your car with significant advance. don't take my word for it on that though.
